Well, here we are, the big day! It's been quite a while now since Dahku announced our return to game development, but we finally have a new release. After this long, releasing on different platforms, and in an industry that's changed a lot, it pretty much feels like our first release ever. Given that, you'd think we'd have a lot to say on this occasion, but well, we don't really. We're happy with how Rotund Takeoff has turned out, and as a remake it directly shows how far we've come. We're grateful to the small but faithful community that's stuck with us, and grateful to the handful of news sites and influencers who've helped spread awareness.

If Rotund Takeoff looks interesting to you, please do give it a chance! There's a 15% off launch discount for the first week.

We hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll want to follow along as we continue developing the epic sequel, Rotund Rebound!

Sorry it's been a while, but it's no secret that our more frequent updates happen in the Rotund Discord. https://discord.gg/Dt9rezQ
If you're not in there already, now's the time; we're running a public beta, so stop in and get your copy!

You'll have access to the finished game in its entirety, from now until shortly before launch on January 21st, 2021!

We really wanted to release Rotund Takeoff this year, but scheduling didn't favor us, so having the full game playable is the next best thing.

We hope to see you there!

If you're looking for a TLDR, the title was it. We've updated RT's demo with:
- official opening cut scene graphics
- official music in the bonus level, and tweaked results music
- Steam Cloud functionality for your save data
- adjustments to some of the rank times
- Linux & macOS versions
- various minor tweaks

As previously mentioned, the RT demo got a LOT more downloads than people who actually played during the Steam Autumn Festival, so now if those people see it in their library and decide to give it a go, they'll be met with a much stronger experience. Hopefully those of you who've already played it will also enjoy the upgrades.

Last but not least, we've added Linux & macOS versions, and for those who don't dig the Steam vibe, we've also put the demo on itch.io!

And so concludes another Steam Game Festival! Compared to Rotund Rebound's numbers in the Summer edition, Rotund Takeoff actually did much better on the downloads—but even less actually got around to playing it. That implies there were a lot of players interested enough to download it, but lacking in time or opportunity over the course of the festival. In view of that, we've decided to leave the demo up indefinitely! We'll also continue to update it as we work on the main project to improve rough spots like the placeholder opening cut scene graphics.

Whether you grabbed it during the festival or are coming in late, we hope you'll give it a go! If you find it's up your alley, be sure to come by our Discord to say hi, share your thoughts/records, and grab the exclusive spinoff title, Rotund Zero!

As you may know, Rotund Rebound is a sequel to Chubbins (2014, Wii U). Since beginning Rotund Rebound's development, we knew we wanted to do a remake of Chubbins in the new style, new engine, and generally bring it up to modern Rotund-series standards. And for a myriad of reasons (starting with the fact that Chubbins is no longer available on the eShop), we've decided to do so now rather than later.

Rotund Rebound is unfortunately delayed again as a result (now tentatively 2021 Q2), but the good news is that the Chubbins remake, titled Rotund Takeoff, has been in intense development for awhile now and is aiming to release before year's end!

Check out the trailer now, or visit rotundtakeoff.com for the full rundown!

If you're a fan of the original, please be assured that even as we've made big upgrades and style changes, we've taken great care to remain faithful where possible. You'll be able to compare for yourself when a small Rotund Takeoff demo goes live on October 7th as part of the Steam Game Festival: Autumn Edition!

And if you aren't interested in Takeoff and just want Rebound, we do apologize for the unexpected delay. Hopefully a few months longer won't be too terrible a wait.

Let us know what you think, and don't forget to join us in the Rotund Discord for weekly dev reports and other exclusive goodies!
